I got to shoot one of the first weddings at Copper and Kings distillery in Louisville. I love the place. It’s orange and black, modern and minimal. Upstairs there is an art gallery. There’s a great outdoor area for cocktail hour, and a rooftop overlooking the city.
Mike and Jessica are also two of the sweetest people I’ve gotten to photograph. They met at work and seem to embrace each other and a simple sense of adventure with patience and kindness. These are important qualities for enjoying life, I think. Many would say they are also important qualities for a marriage. They both had a great sense of humor and I could tell their guests had an amazing time.
I especially loved the cutout in Jessica’s wedding dress. Her mother actually designed all the flowers as well. I loved how Jessica and Mike got married in the circular fire pit, and that guests blew bubbles as they walked the aisle as man and wife. The bridesmaid dresses were terrific colors, shades of green and blue that stood out against the orange and black of the venue.
